General Information about the Race

The Rodos Cup is an international sailing race organized annually in the Aegean Sea by the Rhodes Offshore Sailing Club (ASIATHR). It started in 1997 and has evolved into one of the most important sailing races in Greece, attracting participants from all over the world.

The Rodos Cup 2025 will take place from Sunday, July 6th to Friday, July 11th, 2025. The race starts from Kos and follows a route through Kalymnos, Nisyros, Chalki, and ends in Rhodes.
The race route is as follows:

  • July 6 – Registration & Opening Ceremony in Kos
  • July 7 – Kos → Kalymnos
  • July 8 – Kalymnos → Nisyros
  • July 9 – Rest day in Nisyros
  • July 10 – Nisyros → Chalki
  • July 11 – Chalki → Rhodes (Closing Ceremony)

Race Participation

The race is open to all sailors, both amateurs and professionals. There is no strict experience requirement, but it is recommended that the crew includes individuals with sailing knowledge, as the race includes open sea routes.

Essential requirements:

  • The crew of each boat must consist of 3 to 12 people (including the skipper).
  • The skipper must have a valid athlete’s license.
  • If you do not have an athlete’s license, contact us so we can guide you through the process of obtaining one.
Boats can compete in the following categories:

  • IMS (ORC International & ORC Club)
  • IRC Racing (IRC Endorsed)
  • IRC Cruising (IRC non-Endorsed, IRC Endorsed without spinnaker)
  • Cruising (without certificate)

Accommodation & Transportation

The organizers do not provide accommodation for participants. However, there are hotels and lodgings available on each island of the route. Rentals are at the expense of the participants and are independent of the race.

Participants can travel to Kos either by air or by sea.

By Air: The island has Kos International Airport (KGS) with direct flights from Athens and various European cities.

By Sea: There are daily ferry routes to Kos from:

  • Piraeus (Blue Star Ferries)
  • Rhodes and other Dodecanese islands (Dodekanisos Seaways)
  • Turkey (Bodrum Express)
